Alpaca does not manage properties directly, but we manage many Facebook groups in which you can find housing offers and potential tenants. We recommend that you join the group corresponding to the city of your interest, and create a post stating what you are looking for. How do I post in your groups?
Each request to join one of our groups typically takes a few hours to get approved. As an approved member, you will then have the ability to create posts stating what you are looking for. To do it:
- Go to the group
- On the top of the group feed you will see the option "Start discussion"
- Click on "Start discussion" and describe what you're looking for, or the features of the property you'd like to rent out.
- If you're looking to rent out a room / apartment / house, we strongly recommend you to add pictures of the property. It would help you make your post more visible
- Click on the button "Post"
How often can I post in a group?
You can post up to five times per month. If you want to use the groups more extensively or for commercial purposes, please contact email@example.com.
How long does it take for my request to join a group to be approved?

Why has my post been declined?
Your post has been identified as unsuitable, or is one that does not follow our community standards. If we got this wrong (which we do sometimes!), do let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will rectify the problem.
Why are my posts being deleted/declined/pending since several days?
If you didn't include any external link and didn't violate our group rules, it is possible that your posts have been deleted by Facebook, not us. Sometimes the post will still be shown as pending for you, while we will not be able to see it. Unfortunately there's nothing we as group administrators can do about it.
In this case you should see that your posts have been deleted and usually Facebook provides information in its support inbox: www.facebook.com/support
I have followed your group rules, but my post is not showing up in your group nor in Facebook's support inbox
It's likely your post has been approved but you are having problems finding it in the group. Please check your groups activity log on Facebook whether you can find it there:
If you can't find it there either, it might have been declined by us because we misidentified it as inappropriate.
In that case please please contact us at email@example.com and include the following info:
- Name on your Facebook account and a link to your profile
- Group you are trying to post in
- Text your are trying to post
How can I edit my post?
By typing your name into the the function “Search in this group” (located on the left side of the window), you will see all your posts and comments made within the group. Then:
- Click on the three dots on the top right corner of your post.
- Click on "Edit post"
- You can change the text and add pictures
- Once you have made the changes, click on the button "Save"
I want to delete a post that I made, but I can’t find it
By typing your name into the the function “Search in this group” (located on the left side of the window), you will see all your posts and comments made in the group. You can delete your post by clicking on “Option >> Delete Post” on the top right corner of your post. Please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you experience any issues.
What can I do if a group member is trying to scam me?
Although we do our best to keep our communities as scam-free as possible, we ultimately do not manage any properties directly or know all of our users personally. Do take standard security precautions: for example, we do not recommend transferring any funds without first visiting an apartment or home. You can also write to us at email@example.com and we will look into the matter.
What can I do if I think a group member is spamming or posting irrelevant information?
Please report the post and write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating the name of the user you suspect is spamming.
